The history of AS Latvijas Balzams can be traced back to 1900 when the first factory started operating. Today, the company is leading producer of alcoholic beverages in Baltics and has two production facilities in Riga – a distillery of strong alcoholic beverages and sparkling wines and light alcoholic beverages production plant.

AS Latvijas balzams produces several world famous brands such as Riga Sparkling Wine, Riga Black Balsam, and two brands of vodka – Moskovskaya and Stolichnaya.

Riga Black Balsam is a truly unique product as it is one of the oldest alcoholic beverages in Europe known since 1752. As the producer of over 100 different products, AS Latvijas balzams is represented in all segments of strong and light alcoholic beverages market in Latvia, being the market leader in many of them.

The daily production practices of the company are conducted according to high quality standards that are applied at all stages of production starting with the purchase of raw materials through packaging to work culture.

The quality management system applied at AS Latvijas balsams is certified in accordance with the ISO standards. The company carefully selects the suppliers of raw materials and controls the purchased materials very attentively in order to guarantee their high quality. The company also ensures that application of traditional technologies is combined with the innovative ones in order to guarantee the highest quality of the finished products.
